Saturday: Fairport Downed by West Islip
June 12, 2010 - After playing a close first half that found the two last Class A teams left in the New York State Tournament, tied at 5-5, West Islip turned on the heat with eight unanswered goals in the second half to win their second State championship in a row. Full Report

Tuesday: Section Five Sweeps Western Regionals
June 8, 2010 - All three Section Five teams defeated the champions form Section Six today at Canisius College in Buffalo. Irondequoit was first up with a 3:30 game in Class B and they won 8-4 over Hamburg who finish their season at 17-3. Aquinas (Class C) was the 14-11 winner over Silver Creek who end their season at 17-2. In Class A, Fairport defeated Orchard Park 10-5 who finish their season at 16-2. Full Report

Friday: Championship Day
June 4, 2010 - Only one team beat the seeding this year and that was Irondequoit, who as #5 beat McQuaid (#4), then Canandaigua (#1) and finally Thomas (#2) to take their first Class B championship since 2007. The Eagles won 16-13) in the closest game of the day. After twelve consecutive championships, Penn Yan, the only previous Section Five Class C team, was dethroned this afternoon by Aquinas (16-9). In Class A, Fairport won their first Sectional title since 2002 with a 10-3 victory over Pittsford. Full Report

Tuesday: On to the Championships
June 1, 2010 - The Whipple brothers will be busy on Friday night as Craig Whipple's Irondequoit team won their semi final over top seeded Canandaigua and Andrew's Pittsford Panthers won their semi final game over Penfield. Webster Thomas returns to the finals with their win over Brighton and Fairport returns after beating R-H. In Class C, Penn Yan beat Geneva and Aquinas beat Bloomfield-Honeoye. Full Report
